Blogs in the Classroom

http://annesmith9h.blogspot.com/

This blog appears to be a 9th grade Honors English class blog. Students take turns adding posts to the blog. They have many detailed posts, providing a window into what their class is like. The blog has not been updated since 2007.

Since the blog seems to no longer be active, I could not use it as an interactive resource for students. There are, however, several literature resources listed such as book lists and examples of a documentary based on student feedback. I thought it was pretty interesting and entertaining to read about what these particular students felt about their Honors English class.

  4. I found the blog you researched to be interesting, and if I was a teacher I would create a blog simular to this one because I think it is a creative way to get feedback about how you are doing with your lessons from your students.

  5. Melissa, let's hope the blog gets updated soon! What a great idea to have student feedback about their own class. I like the idea of having book lists, too. I took Honors English and I'd be interested in seeing what the students are reading nowadays...and if they liked it, too!

  6. The list of resources is great. I, as well, hope that it gets updated. I would definitely incorporate a blog in an Honors English class. It is a great way to get student feedback.

  7. I looked at the ReadWriteThink website and I have recently used it for one of my reading lesson plans and I think it is a good resource for teachers to use in the classroom.
